Gilberdyke CC 1st XI ver East Halton C C(10th July 2010)

East Halton CC 149  (All out)

 Gilberdyke CC 151 for 3 (30.3 overs)

Gilberdyke once again won the toss and invited East Halton to bat first. East Halton made a good start racing to 44 in the 7th over before N.Butler surprised the batsmen with a straight delivery. With Gilberdyke bowlers still bowling a poor line K.Goddard was fetched into the attack to regain some control of the run rate. At the half way stage the game was evenly split as East Halton were 83 for 3. Two excellent catches by D.Redford saw Gilberdyke raise there game, and with part time bowler R.Pettican bowling in tandem with K.Goddard the over’s ticked over at a very quick rate. East Halton had reached 149 when R.Callis clean bowled S.Davison (6) with the last delivery of the innings. S.Sampson top scored for East Halton with 18 not out. Gilberdyke had once again made the game much harder conceding 53 extras, 37 of which were wide delivers.

In reply Gilberdyke hammered East Halton opening bowlers all around Inngs View until the 13th over when R.Pettican was bowled by A.Jack for a quick fire 35. Fellow opener D.Redford was also bowled by A.Jack for a rapid 39. D.Redford 39 included 3 fours and 3 sixes. Gilberdyke were 93 for 3 after 21 over’s when K.Goddard joined J.Butler at the crease. With the ball once again disappearing to all parts of the ground Gilberdyke had reached 146 after 30 over’s. The first ball of 31st over saw J.Butler score a single leaving K.Goddard on strike. Two balls later K.Goddard hit a four to see Gilberdyke reach there target and see him self finish with an unbeaten half century. K.Goddard 51 consisted of 1 six and 10 fours.

Gilberdyke C.C wishes Ryan Callis all the best in the future, as he starts his career in London.
