GILBERDYKE
JUNIOR CRICKET FUN DAY (Added 27th July 10)
The club will be holding their annual junior fun day on MONDAY 02nd AUGUST at the cricket ground from 10.00 to 3.00 pm for children strictly between the years of 7 to 14 inclusive with a charge of 2.00 (Two Pounds). This day is for boys and girls of all abilities to enjoy fun cricket games using a soft ball and learning some new skills along the way. Drinks will be provided at the interval and children are requested to bring their own packed lunch for the dinner break. Contact for this event is ANDY PITTS 01430 440167.
GILBERDYKE
U13S WIN 7 - A - SIDE COMPETITION (Added 27th June 10)
Gilberdyke U13s won the Welton & Brough 7-a-side competition on 13th June for the second year running by beating the host club in the final. Four teams were involved, Welton & Brough, Gilberdyke, HICE and North Ferriby with each team playing each other once. Despite losing their first game Gilberdyke won their next two and progressed to the final through the bonus point system.The final itself was close fought with Gilberdyke scoring 47 in their 6 overs and eventually winning off the last ball by two runs despite giving away half the oppositions total in extras.A magnificent effort again from the boys with everyone contributing at some stage through the competition. The victorious team members were HARRY WALKER, LOUIS TURNER, BRAD WILLIAMS, TOM REED, WILLIAM GALLAGHER, EDWARD LAPISH and GEORGE HOUSEMAN.
